God Said to Me, “I Desire All Men to Be Saved. Go and Disciple All the Nations”, Zoe Hsiao

That day in 1997 on my way to a subway in Manhattan, New York, my attitude was gloomy and gray. My heart was heavy, but I did not know why. Then the Lord said to me, “I desire all men to be saved” (1 Timothy 2:4). This speaking removed the veil from my heart and my inward sky suddenly became clear. I surveyed my surroundings and realized that many pedestrians were of different origins--some were Europeans, some were Americans and some were Asians, and my heart leaped. I responded to the Lord, these are the “all men” You desire to save, and therefore not only the Chinese should get saved but “all men.” But I became discouraged when I looked at my daily life. I asked the Lord, “What can I do? I should go to the Full-Time Training, and I want to go, but how can I get there?” I sighed and I cried because I felt aimless in my college life. I was going to Baruch College but I did not know my goal. For a while I hid this in my heart until some time later I mentioned it to my sister who was moving to California. She encouraged me and told me that it was possible for me to go the Training. She suggested that I move to California and live with her and her family, so she could help me if I needed it. I took her suggestion and transferred from Baruch College to Santa Ana College and ended up at the University of California in Irvine (UCI). I graduated from UCI with a Bachelor's degree in International Studies in March, 2002. In August 2002, I joined the Full-Time Training in Anaheim, and I am now a happy second-term trainee enjoying the Lord, loving the Lord and pursuing the Lord with “all those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart” (2 Timothy 2:22).

In the Training, I am experiencing the second half of 1 Timothy 2:4, coming to “the full knowledge of the truth.” The way I am coming to the full knowledge of the truth is by sitting in and eating a spiritual feast which the Training provides. The environment is like a dining room for me to be fed with the riches of the Lord. Everyday, I make sure that I am poor in my spirit, opened and emptied, hungry and thirsty for the Lord. When I read the Word of God with such a spirit I receive a fresh supply and I am strengthened. I am also very refreshed and encouraged by reading the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee along with the Bible. This ministry material opens up the Word of God and enlightens me, causing me to grow in the divine life, which is God's life. This divine life is the priceless treasure in me. I love and I treasure this life unutterably. I want to keep growing in it until I am matured. I thank God for giving me His eternal life and for bringing me to the Training where I can feast on His riches, grow in life and function in the church.
